Air Purification System in a Chicken Wing Packaging Room

Compact AirPur 7200 Stainless Steel Air Purifier

The Compact AirPur 7200 Stainless Steel air purifier includes the following components in the direction of airflow:

  • A duct that draws in outside air to create positive pressure in the room.
  • A stainless steel prefilter on the front (removable and washable) with G3 efficiency, featuring built-in droplet separators and grease filters.
  • Two particulate filters with 85% opacimetric efficiency (i.e., 85% retention of particles larger than 0.4 µm):
  • Two universal air purifiers with UVC lamps.
  • A motorized vent above the filters that draws air from the room; it is open in air-purification mode and closed in washing mode.
  • A motorized damper on the side of the unit that draws in outside air (through a stainless steel duct) to dry the room more quickly during cleaning; it is open in wash mode and closed in purification mode. (This duct draws air through a new outdoor air intake box located outside and protected by two F7-type filters and rain screens.)
  • A fan with a built-in 2200 W motor (DD 15/15) mounted on a base.
  • A stainless steel duct with 3 air diffusion grilles.

The purifier operates in two modes:

  • Air Purification Mode:

In this mode, air from the room is drawn into the unit and passes successively through:

  • The metal prefilter, which removes large particles and grease and prevents moisture from entering.
  • The opacimetric filter, which will then trap all the finest particles, must achieve two main objectives:
    • Prevent contaminants from circulating through the rooms using particles as “carriers”
    • Prevent particles from settling on products
  • Photoclean Quartz air decontamination units continuously destroy contaminants in two phases:
    • Sterilization: The very short wavelengths (254 nm) of UVC germicidal lamps penetrate deep into the DNA of microorganisms, preventing them from reproducing.
    • Creation of extremely powerfuloxidizing radicals (OH°) through the combined action of UVC and the Photoclean media, capable of continuously destroying bacteria, mold, viruses, odors, and VOCs—and even breaking down the finest chemical particles. The air in the room will be recirculated and treated 10 to 20 times per hour. Finally, a slight positive pressure is created by drawing air from the adjacent room so that, after this air has been purified, the purified air from the process room “escapes” to the outside, rather than risking the entry of contaminated outside air.
  • Room Cleaning Mode:

In this mode, the air purifier is turned off. When the unit switches to wash mode, the following 4 actions occur:

  • The air purifier register is closing
  • The outside air intake vent opens
  • The exhaust fan turns on
  • The glycol water evaporator is shut down

The purpose of this is to bring in outside air, which has a lower humidity level than the air inside. This drier air absorbs moisture and will soak up the water suspended in the air during washing; this “moist” air is then exhausted by the exhaust fan.

  • Reactivating purification mode depends on two settings:
  • How the switch works
  • Humidity: If the relative humidity is < 80% (controlled by the hygrostat):
    • The glycol water evaporator is running, the air purifier damper opens, the outside air intake damper closes, and the exhaust fan turns off.
