An innovative alternative to HEPA filters
for air decontamination
Are you looking for an effective air decontamination solution for your business?
Photoclean offers an innovative alternative to HEPA filters: a UV disinfection system compatible with all air handling units, capable of continuously treating all types of spaces (including very large industrial spaces) with minimal pressure drop.
We offer a comprehensive solution, including a customized study to ensure quick and easy installation.
HEPA Filtration: An Effective but Cumbersome Technique
Among the various types of air filters, HEPA filters offer the highest level of filtration among fine filters, with an average efficiency of over 85% for the finest particles.
It is their overall and local efficiency in capturing particles with the most penetrating diameter (MPPS ± 0.1 μm) that determines which specific category a filter falls into among the three main filter families: coarse filters (G), medium-efficiency filters (M), and high-efficiency filters (F).
HEPA filters are traditionally used to capture fine particles indoors. However, although their efficiency has been proven to be over 99.9%, their use results in a significant pressure drop, due to the pressure exerted on the air by this type of industrial air filtration as well as the number of air changes required per hour.
In fact, an industrial air filter of the HEPA type must trap 1,000 inert particles in order to capture a single contaminant.
In practical terms, this results in large-scale systems that are incompatible with existing air handling units and have high energy consumption.
: A cost-effective and efficient solution fully tailored to your facilities
Founded in 2005 by specialists in industrial air treatment and industrial air filtration,
Photoclean is currently the only French company entirely dedicated to UV air purification.
UV Technology
Aware of the challenges faced by our clients—companies in the food industry, wine industry, industrial sector, and service sector—as well as the constraints and expectations specific to their industries, we have adapted UV technology to offer them an alternative to absolute filtration.
Our air decontamination modules—the core components of which are manufactured exclusively in our facilities in the Lyon region — operate on the principle of photolysis through the combined action of UVC rays and a specialized filter medium developed by Photoclean and coated with a catalyst.
Fine filters
Unlike Absolu filters, which are designed to trap inert particles carrying contaminants, our UV purification modules target only microbiological and chemical contaminants, which they eliminate by oxidizing them. This results in systems that are more energy-efficient and significantly smaller than those that rely on fine filters.
Different product lines
Photoclean devices are available in various lines of UV-C air decontamination modules and units, including a line of universal modules compatible with all air handling units. This means you don’t need to install a less-efficient filter for the air handling unit with lower efficiency, nor do you need to make major modifications to your system.
Economical
Our systems require two to three times fewer air changes, resulting in significant cost savings. They operate continuously without human intervention, except for annual maintenance.
Custom Solution
Based on the issues identified by our engineering department’s experts during the on-site audit and the specific characteristics of your facilities, we can also offer you a solution that incorporates air extraction, humidification, or dehumidification.
We’ll provide you with a detailed report, guide you toward the most suitable models in our lineup, and supply you with installation plans to ensure a quick and hassle-free setup.
