Absolute filters:
What other solutions are available for air treatment?
As its name suggests, an absolute filter removes virtually all pollutants from the ambient air. In addition, it filters out particles of minute size, such as certain viruses.
However, due to the way they work, these filters are incompatible with existing air handling units. That’s why Photoclean offers an innovative solution: UV decontamination.
An alternative to cleanrooms?
A cleanroom is a room in which the concentration of airborne particles is strictly controlled. This is generally the case in sensitive sectors, such as research laboratories or certain branches of industry. This type of facility uses absolute filtration and also controls various parameters such as pressure, temperature, and humidity.
While highly effective, this method of disinfecting the air and surfaces is also extremely demanding. In fact, HEPA or ULPA filters exert significant pressure on the air, resulting in a large pressure drop.
Furthermore, they require a significant air change rate every hour. Air handling units (AHUs) are not capable of withstanding such filtration demands. As for the systems themselves, they are bulky and energy-intensive, making them difficult for businesses to implement and, above all, suitable only for small spaces.
Discover a high-performance air treatment solution
As the only company in France entirely dedicated to indoor air decontamination, Photoclean has based its core technology on a natural phenomenon with proven effectiveness: photolysis.
This term refers to a chemical reaction resulting from the interaction of UV-C rays with a specific medium, which we design and manufacture exclusively in the Lyon region.
In practical terms, our modules make it possible to handle very large volumes (in warehouses or factories, for example) continuously, simply, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Our engineering team works directly on-site to conduct a comprehensive audit and develop a customized solution to prevent contamination in your facilities, while also taking related issues into account.
Depending on the size and layout of the premises, as well as the identified constraints (type of contaminants, installation requirements, etc.), we’ll guide you toward the most suitable units in our product line. Our technicians will create layout plans that enable you to combat microbiological, chemical, and particulate contamination while ensuring optimal air quality. The installation can then be easily carried out by an outside contractor following our recommendations. To facilitate this step, we will contact your project manager directly.
A range of equipment for all your air disinfection needs
Aware of the challenges and issues you face, we have focused on developing a solution tailored to each location: industrial facilities, food processing plants, laboratories, offices, and more.
That’s why our universal decontamination and purification modules are designed to fit onto all existing air handling units and ductwork systems. They require no modifications to your existing system, making installation quick and easy.
If your company does not yet have an air handling unit, Photoclean offers a 2-in-1 solution: air handling units with integrated purification and decontamination modules. These units can treat an entire building—even a large one—while minimizing dead zones as much as possible.
