Poor air quality remains the leading cause of contamination in the workplace, as well as in hospitals, not to mention cross-contamination, which can jeopardize an entire production run—in the food industry, for example.
To prevent risks associated with microbiological contamination, it is therefore essential to choose a solution tailored not only to the needs of your business but also to your facilities. Some traditional technologies (such as HEPA filters) are effective but place significant strain on the air, which in turn leads to high energy consumption and requires large, costly, and impractical installations.
After working for years with clients (particularly manufacturers) facing this challenge in air treatment, we have developed a unique system that provides effective UV disinfection of the air while delivering substantial cost savings.
Until now, UV-C rays were primarily used for water decontamination because of their short wavelength, which made them difficult to use for large volumes of air. By adding a specialized filter—designed and manufactured exclusively in our facilities and installed near the lamps—we have successfully overcome this challenge. Contaminants are retained long enough to be destroyed by the UV-C rays.
Unlike HEPA filters, which filter out fine particles, contaminants are therefore not trapped in your air handling unit. This helps you avoid the risk of circulating microorganisms and viruses through your air-handling or HVAC systems, especially if you use air recirculation, energy recovery, or dual-flow systems.
One final key factor: the pressure exerted on the air (and thus the pressure drop) is minimal. This results in an energy-efficient system and a reasonably compact installation.
