UV disinfection in Your Commercial and Industrial Facilities
As a specialist in industrial air quality, Photoclean has drawn on all its expertise and experience to develop a proprietary technology: UV disinfection of the air. By leveraging the phenomenon of photolysis, combined with a medium we have patented, we have achieved the ultimate solution in air treatment.
UV Rays for Air Decontamination
UV disinfection has been known for a long time. The challenge was to adapt the process for air treatment—and that has now been achieved thanks to the system developed by Photoclean.
UV-C rays have the unique ability to trigger a chemical reaction that oxidizes microorganisms—such as viruses, bacteria, mold, and yeast. This photolysis helps eliminate microbiological and chemical contaminants, such as VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
There are two constraints:
- Because UV-C rays have a very short wavelength, they are effective only within a very small radius. It was therefore necessary to find a way to direct the air as close as possible to the germicidal UV lamp.
- To be decontaminated, the air must remain in contact with the rays for a sufficiently long time. This poses a problem in industrial settings, where very large volumes must be treated efficiently—a task that, until now, required the use of enormous and extremely energy-intensive systems.
UV-C Disinfection: A One-of-a-Kind Process in an Industrial Setting
The solution came from a unique material developed by Photoclean. This medium has three properties: it increases the exchange surface area by a factor of 4,000, traps particles, and has the ability to transmit UV-C rays. This solves the problem of air residence time and the effective range of UV-C radiation.
Once the system was developed, all that remained was to integrate it into UV disinfection modules that could be adapted to existing installations or into standalone units.
UV disinfection system for air: Photoclean products and services
We have successfully developed a customized solution for all industrial sectors and facilities of all sizes. Each UV lamp is paired with our patented media and integrated into an air purification unit. This unit is then available in various configurations to meet your needs:
- Universal air purifiers can be integrated into new or existing air handling units, either as a supplement to the original filters or as a replacement for absolute filters.
- Standalone air handling units are available in fixed or mobile versions to adapt to any configuration and eliminate dead zones.
- Air treatment and air decontamination units (UTDA) include the capability to maintain negative or positive pressure in the premises.
Much more than just a manufacturer of UV air decontamination systems, Photoclean works closely with each client on their project. Our engineering department conducts a systematic audit of your facilities before proposing a customized solution: type and number of units, layout, and installation. We also train you on how to use and maintain our equipment.
Whether you work in the food industry, the industrial sector, the medical field, or the pharmaceutical industry, take advantage of a high-performance, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution: have Photoclean install decontamination chambers equipped with UV lamps.
