Factory Disinfection

Factory Disinfection:
PhotoClean adapts to your needs

Industrial facilities, particularly in the food industry, are environments highly susceptible to biocontamination. This can have numerous health and economic consequences, which is why it is important to implement proven factory disinfection procedures. Discover PhotoClean’s customized decontamination solutions.

Common Sources of Contamination in the Food Industry

Every industry is exposed to airborne contamination, whether from human respiration and droplets or from poor ventilation or insufficient air exchange. Millions of microorganisms are thus present in the air and come into contact with raw materials and finished or processed products.

Because it works with perishable or sensitive foods, the food industry faces multiple risks of biocontamination, which can lead to effects of varying severity:

  • excessively rapid ripening of fruits and vegetables;
  • changes in appearance, odor, or taste;
  • mold growth on bread, brioche, cheese, cured meats, and other meat products…
  • contamination by pathogenic microorganisms such as Salmonella or Listeria.

What are the consequences of biocontamination in the food industry?

Such contamination leads to two types of problems: health-related and economic. Indeed, if bacteria harmful to human health are present, the product must be destroyed. It may also be necessary to issue a product recall, which brings us to the second consequence of contamination for the company: a financial loss of varying magnitude. This is often accompanied by damage to the brand’s reputation, which also has an economic impact.

To a lesser extent, contaminated air in a food industry facility can also clog ventilation vents and cause mold spots to appear on surfaces, products, and so on.

What are the decontamination solutions for industrial settings?

Preventing biocontamination in the food industry involves three key measures:

  • impeccable hygiene among factory employees—both personal hygiene and proper attire: wearing appropriate clothing reduces the risk of contamination;
  • thorough and regular CIP (clean-in-place) procedures (machines, surfaces, floors, etc.);
  • effective air decontamination.

It is in this last area that Photoclean comes into play.

Air Decontamination in Industrial Settings: Our Area of Expertise

To control the risk of contamination, it is essential to manage both the airflow and air quality in production facilities. Since 2005, Photoclean has been developing high-performance, cost-effective air decontamination solutions.

Our industrial air treatment modules combine the action of UV-C rays with a revolutionary filter medium, manufactured exclusively at our facilities in the Lyon region. This innovation makes it possible to treat very large volumes of air without pressure drop and with significantly lower energy consumption than that of conventional units equipped with HEPA filters. Our modules are also more space-efficient.

Photoclean does more than just sell you air decontamination devices. Our engineering team visits your site to conduct a preliminary audit so we can offer you a customized solution. We then manufacture the equipment in our workshops.

To ensure clean air in your food industry facilities, trust Photoclean.
