Air quality is essential not only for ensuring good working conditions for employees and students, but also for preventing contamination and product spoilage in the food industry. Staphylococcal infections in hospitals, meanwhile, are responsible for numerous deaths each year.
To address this problem, several solutions exist, the most common of which has been the use of HEPA filters capable of filtering fine particles. The problem with this technique? It exerts significant pressure on the air, leading to high energy consumption (and consequently high utility bills) and requires large-scale installations that can pose logistical and financial challenges.
Recognizing this challenge, we have developed a line of air purifiers that contain germicidal UV lamps and a specialized filter medium—designed and manufactured exclusively by us—that allows UV-C rays (primarily used in water decontamination) to the treatment of large volumes of air.
The combination of these two elements makes it possible, through the process of photolysis, to directly target chemical and microbiological contaminants by destroying them rather than simply trapping and blocking them in the filters.
What’s the advantage over fine-particle filters? Since there are fewer contaminants than inert particles in the air, the pressure drop is minimal and energy consumption is lower. The size of the units is also much more reasonable, which makes our devices easy to install, especially since our line includes freestanding units designed to be mounted on the ceiling, wall, or placed directly on the floor, as well as portable units and universal modules compatible with all air handling units.
