Air Purifier Effectiveness

Air Purifier Effectiveness: Discover the Photoclean UV System

Are you looking for a solution that’sas effective as an air purifier, yet covers very large spaces while using very little energy? Photoclean presents an innovative solution for businesses!

Schools, cafeterias, daycare centers, hospitals, offices, government agencies: by choosing our UV air decontamination modules, you’ll enjoy greater peace of mind and prevent contamination while realizing real savings.

Air Contamination: A Major Challenge in the Service Sector

Human activity in enclosed spaces inevitably leads to microbiological, chemical, and even fungal contamination. The human body alone expels 5 million particles while at rest; it is therefore inevitable that millions of microorganisms circulate throughout the premises, attached to inert particles suspended in the air.

To combat this contamination, the use of an air purifier is essential.

However, we often face a major problem: if the ventilation system operates in a closed loop (air recirculation), it will often contribute to spreading contaminants (including viruses) from one room to another. This airborne contamination can have serious consequences for businesses in the midst of a pandemic.

In general, contamination in enclosed environments can have a variety of effects:

Virus Transmission and Diseases

Healthcare-Associated Infections in Hospitals

Spoilage of products in the food industry and the Development of Unpleasant Odors

Mold growth in the premises or on products

To avoid these inconveniences, it is important to implement an air purifier solution
that is tailored to both the requirements of your business and your facilities.

Photoclean: Effective UV Air Purifiers

The effectiveness of an air decontamination system is measured not only by its results (the effective and continuous removal of contaminants) but also by its energy consumption and its ability to cover the entire volume of your premises.

And that is often where the main challenge lies. HEPA air purifiers—which are widely used in the service sector and have a proven track record of effectiveness—cause a very significant pressure drop in order to filter out inert particles (and thus, indirectly, the contaminants that adhere to them), which results in high energy costs and the need for very large air handling units.

For this reason, Photoclean has adapted the use of UV-C rays for air treatment so that it can treat all types of spaces—including very large areas such as schools and hospitals. This has been achieved through the combined action of germicidal UV lamps and a specialized filter medium designed and manufactured exclusively by us.

Unlike HEPA filters, our air purifier targets contaminants directly to eliminate them, rather than targeting particles. This unique feature makes all the difference! In fact, since there is, on average, 1 contaminant for every 1,000 inert particles in a room, the pressure exerted on the air (and thus the resulting pressure drop) is minimal.

The result: our units (fixed or portable) and units for air handling centers are reasonably sized and, most importantly, operate continuously while consuming significantly less energy than conventional filtration systems. Furthermore, since contaminants are destroyed rather than stored, the lifespan of your filters and equipment is extended. So you come out ahead in every way!

Would you like to use HEPA filters to meet the requirements of your industry? No problem! We can also provide them with our UV units.

We conduct an on-site assessment to provide you with a customized solution tailored to the specific needs of your facilities and business. Our units are custom-built in our workshops in the Lyon area.
